Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.3.5.1.7 - Use the imperative forms of verbs to give instructions and directions

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify imperative verbs in given sentences and state what makes a sentence an instruction or a direction.
Give a simple two-step instruction using imperative verbs, such as “Open your book and read page 4.”
Give directions to a familiar place in the school or community using at least three imperative verbs.
Convert a polite request into a direct imperative command, and vice versa, without changing the meaning.
Write a short set of instructions (for example, how to prepare a local dish or play a simple game) using at least four imperative verbs in the correct order.
