Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.3.5.1.5 - Use irregular form of the simple past tense of verbs

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the simple past forms of at least 10 common irregular verbs (e.g., go went, build built, eat ate) when they see or hear them in sentences.
  2. Change at least 8 regular and irregular verbs from their base form to their simple past form correctly.
  3. Use the irregular simple past forms of at least 6 verbs correctly in their own spoken sentences.
  4. Use the irregular simple past forms of at least 6 verbs correctly in their own written sentences.
  5. Work collaboratively in groups to generate and present additional examples of irregular past tense verbs to the class.
