Indicator: B5.3.4.1.1 - Use comparatives forms of regular and irregular adjectives to make comparisons

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Form the comparative and superlative forms of regular adjectives by adding er and est, with correct spelling changes where needed (for example, fat, fatter, fattest).
  2. Identify and state the comparative and superlative forms of common irregular adjectives, including good, better, best and bad, worse, worst.
  3. Use comparative adjectives correctly in spoken sentences to compare two people, places or things.
  4. Use superlative adjectives correctly in spoken and written sentences to compare three or more people, places or things.
  5. Complete written exercises that require choosing between comparative and superlative forms based on the number of items being compared.
