Indicator: B5.3.1.1.1 - Identify and use nouns or noun phrases to refer to quantities or units.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what a noun phrase that refers to a quantity or unit is, and give at least two examples.
  2. Identify quantity or unit noun phrases (such as “a piece of paper” or “a pair of trousers”) in given sentences.
  3. Match correct quantity or unit words to the nouns they go with (for example, “a loaf of bread”, “a bottle of water”, “a bunch of plantain”).
  4. Construct original sentences that use noun phrases to refer to quantities or units.
  5. Use quantity or unit noun phrases correctly in short spoken exchanges with a partner.
