Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.2.6.1.2 - Use the following terms: synonym, antonym, prefix, suffix, phrasal verb etc. in spoken and written expressions.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define and identify synonyms, antonyms, prefixes, suffixes and phrasal verbs in a given text.
  2. Match words with their correct synonyms or antonyms.
  3. Form new words by attaching given prefixes and suffixes to root words.
  4. Use phrasal verbs correctly in spoken sentences during pair work and class discussions.
  5. Write two meaningful sentences for each of the five vocabulary terms (ten sentences total), demonstrating correct usage.
