Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.10.3.7 - Speak with confidence before different audiences and maintain appropriate posture

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate confident speaking by standing straight, holding their head up, and keeping their shoulders relaxed when presenting before the class.
  2. Maintain appropriate eye contact with an audience for at least a few seconds per person while speaking.
  3. Use at least two non-verbal signs, such as hand gestures, nodding, or smiling, to support the meaning of their message during a short presentation.
  4. Give and receive simple, kind feedback on posture and confidence after watching a partner present.
  5. Present a one-minute talk about a personal experience, using the posture and confidence skills practised in the lesson.

- Through role play and frequent practice in presentation, build confidence in learners to enable them stand before different audiences.
- Let them demonstrate various postures, maintain eye contact and use verbal and non-verbal signs to convey meaning. Let them practice these in pairs and groups.
