Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.5.1.3.5 - Explain fundamental database concepts.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  3. Explain what data selection and manipulation mean in a database and give one example of each.
  4. Describe why databases need security measures like passwords and user permissions, and give at least one example of a security risk.
  5. Explain why backing up a database is important and describe when and how a backup should be restored.
