Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.3.1.8 - Select the samples and collect data (e.g. listening to radio, newspaper, talking to people etc.)

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what a sample is and why it is used when collecting data.
  2. Identify at least three different sources of data within the school environment.
  3. Select an appropriate sample of people to interview for a given question.
  4. Design a simple questionnaire with at least three clear questions.
  5. Collect data by interviewing selected people and record the responses accurately in a book or notebook.
