Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.2.1.6 - Demonstrate understanding of the File Explorer window and locations of the computer through the file explorer.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the File Explorer icon and open the File Explorer window on a computer.
  2. Name the main parts of the File Explorer window (address bar, navigation pane, file list, search box).
  3. Use the File Explorer to navigate to common locations on the computer such as Desktop, Documents, Pictures and Downloads.
  4. Locate specific files and folders by browsing through the File Explorer with teacher guidance.
  5. Explain what a file location is and state the location (path) of a file shown in the address bar.
