Learning Objectives

Indicator: B5.1.2.1.4 - Creating a short cut, adding or removing common icons on the desktop.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Explain what a shortcut icon is and why it is useful on the desktop.
  2. Create a shortcut for a common program (such as Paint or WordPad) on the desktop.
  3. Add common icons such as This PC, Recycle Bin, or Control Panel to the desktop.
  4. Remove or hide icons from the desktop safely without deleting the actual program or file.
  5. Demonstrate the difference between a shortcut icon and the original program or file.
