Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)
- Regular e.g. play-played - Revise main and auxiliary verbs by having learners identify them in sentences. - Introduce learners to the concept of regular verbs: - Regular verbs form their past tense by adding "d" or "ed" e.g. play= played, walk= walked, bake= baked - Elicit examples from learners and have them used sentences. - The irregular verbs form their past tense differently. They do not add "d" or "ed". - Provide a passage having regular and irregular verbs in the present tense. - Learners rewrite the sentences in the past.
