Indicator: B2.2.7.2.1 - Demonstrate understanding of the purpose and features of information texts
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define an information text and state its main purpose in their own words.
- Identify at least three common features of information texts (title, headings, pictures or photographs, captions, and facts).
- Sort given texts into “information texts” and “story texts” and give a reason for each choice.
- Read a short information text and point out its purpose and two of its features.
- Work with a partner to share and explain what they have noticed about information texts.
