Learning Objectives

Indicator: B2.2.7.1.2 - Ask and answer factual and inferential questions about level-appropriate texts

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Read a level-appropriate text in pairs and identify factual details directly stated in the text.
  • Ask at least two factual questions (who, what, where, when) about a text and answer them using the text.
  • Ask at least two inferential questions (why, how, what do you think) about a text and answer them using clues from the text plus their own reasoning.
  • Distinguish between a factual question and an inferential question by explaining what makes each type different.
  • Work collaboratively with a partner to ask and answer questions, taking turns as questioner and responder.
