Indicator: B2.2.6.1.2 - Use context clues to infer meanings of words
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify unfamiliar words in a short story and point out the surrounding words or phrases that help reveal their meanings.
- Use context clues from a sentence to infer the meaning of a target word and explain their reasoning.
- Match new vocabulary items from a story to their correct meanings using clues from the text.
- Write 3 original sentences using the week’s key vocabulary words, with enough context in each sentence to show the meaning of the word.
