By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Share their holiday plans confidently with a partner in simple sentences.
  2. Present their partner’s holiday plans to the class using appropriate volume and clear speech.
  3. Answer probing questions from the teacher and classmates about their partner’s plans with additional details.
  4. Use sentence frames such as “My friend will go to…” and “He/She will be…” when presenting.
  5. Demonstrate confidence by looking at listeners and speaking at a steady pace.

Exemplars (from the NaCCA curriculum)

- Put learners in pairs to share their holiday plans with each other.
- Have each person share his/her friend's plans with the class.
- Use probing questions to get learners give additional information: e.g. i. Where will he go first? ii. What will he be doing there? etc.
