Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.3.2.3.2 - Perform four continuous push-ups (biceps and triceps).

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate the correct starting position for a push-up, with hands placed under the shoulders and body held straight.
  2. Perform four continuous push-ups, lowering the chest toward the ground and pushing back up using arm strength.
  3. Identify the biceps and triceps as the main arm muscles used during a push-up.
  4. Count and record the number of push-ups they can perform to establish their personal baseline.
  5. Explain why practicing push-ups at home will help them improve their arm strength over time.

After warm-ups, lie on the ground face down with hands supporting chest. Extend the arms to move the upper body weight up and flex the arms to move the body back to lying position. Guide learners to practice to establish their base line. Encourage them to practice at home for improvement.
