Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.5.4.1.3 - Use the present tense continuous form of verbs.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  • Identify the present continuous form of verbs in sentences (verbs ending in -ing with am, is, or are before them)
  • Change simple present tense verbs to present continuous form by adding -ing and using the correct helping verb
  • Complete sentences with the correct present continuous form of a given verb
  • Form their own sentences using the present continuous tense to describe actions happening now
  • Use present continuous tense correctly in a short dialogue about what people are doing at the moment
