Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.4.7.1.2 - Write a simple composition using a substitution table

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Read and identify the parts of a substitution table (subject, verb, object or completion).
  2. Build at least three different sentences from a given substitution table by choosing words from each column.
  3. Arrange their chosen sentences into a short, simple composition of three to five sentences about a familiar topic.
  4. Copy out their composition neatly with correct spacing, capital letters at the start of sentences, and full stops at the end.
  5. Read their completed composition aloud to a partner and listen to a partner’s composition in a Think-Pair-Share activity.
