Indicator: B1.2.7.2.4 - Read level-appropriate texts with prompting and support

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Read a level-appropriate short text aloud with teacher prompting and support when they meet difficult words
Use picture clues and the first letters of words to work out unfamiliar words with support
Point to each word as they read, matching spoken words to printed words
Read a short passage with growing confidence, pausing at full stops and taking a breath at commas
Answer simple questions about what they have just read, using the text to find the answers
