Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.2.7.2.3 - Connect, ideas and information in stories to own experiences and knowledge of the world
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Answer simple questions about the events, characters and values in a story read aloud by the teacher.
- Identify one or more personal experiences that are similar to an event or situation in a story.
- Connect ideas and information from a story to what they already know about the world (for example, how markets work, how farmers care for crops, how families celebrate festivals).
- Share a short personal story or example that connects to a character’s action or feeling in the text.
- Use sentence frames such as “This reminds me of…” and “In my own life, I…” to express connections between a text and their own experience.
