Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.1.6.2.2 - Talk about likes and dislikes: food, animals, toys, etc.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State what they like and dislike using the sentence frames “I like…” and “I do not like…” with accurate pronunciation and clarity.
  2. Identify and name at least five foods, animals, or toys they like and five they dislike.
  3. Ask a partner the question “What do you like?” and respond appropriately using full sentences.
  4. Use the word “because” to give one simple reason for a like or a dislike (for example, “I like kelewele because it is sweet”).
  5. Listen attentively to a partner’s likes and dislikes and retell one of the partner’s preferences to the class.
