Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.1.4.1.2 - Retell short stories

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Retell a short story they have heard in class, using picture prompts to guide the sequence of events.
  2. Arrange picture cards in the correct order to match the beginning, middle, and end of a story.
  3. Use simple connecting words such as “first,” “then,” and “finally” when retelling a story.
  4. Retell a familiar story from their own home or community, such as a folktale, with some accuracy.
  5. Join in with a relevant song when the storyteller pauses during a story retelling.
