Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.2.2.3.1 - Create own artworks based on performing artworks produced or performed in the local community that reflect the history and culture or way of life of the people
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and name at least one performing artwork (dance, drum rhythm, or drama) from their local community and explain what history or way of life it shows.
- Plan a short dance or movement pattern of at least four movements that reflects a local community activity or event.
- Select and use at least one appropriate instrument or resource (such as a drum, shaker, rattle, or whistle) to accompany their planned movements.
- Perform their created artwork for the class, combining movement and sound in a way that shows the culture or way of life of the people.
- Talk about their own artwork and say what history or culture it reflects, using at least one complete sentence.
