Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.2.2.2.1 - Reflect on own experiences of performing artworks that are produced or performed in the local community to plan for creating own artworks that will reflect the history and culture or way of life of people in the local community
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least three performing artworks (music, dance, or drama) found or performed in their local community.
- Talk about one personal memory or experience of watching or joining in a local performance, such as a festival dance or a story-telling session.
- Identify one way a local performance reflects the history or culture of the people (for example, the drum rhythms, the cloth worn, the story told, or the occasion it is performed for).
- Make a simple plan for their own small performance, choosing a local dance, song, or short drama and deciding what it will show about their community.
- Share their plan with a partner and explain in one or two sentences why their chosen performance reflects their community’s way of life.
